Bergkamp and Hemphill is a unique law firm. Located in Adel, Iowa they draw a diverse sampling of clients from both the western suburbs of Des Moines as well as neighboring rural communities. Their team of seasoned experts works to provide clients with a personal legal experience in their areas or practice. But perhaps most unique of all is their office — a historic turn-of-the-century railroad depot. “Everyone says something about the building when they’re out here,” said one senior partner. The firm’s charge to the Westergaard team was to package Bergkamp and Hemphill in a unique way that both communicated their expertise while reinforcing the memorable, personal experiences they work to create.
Westergaard used the depot as the foundation of this brand development. Starting with the retired logo of the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad that built the depot, our team re-envisioned this as the firm’s logo to reflect their rail lineage. The result was a bold ID sure to stand out among other legal brands. The tagline “Expertise in Practice” was developed to ground the brand experience in the firm’s expertise.
Finally, a website was built around the re-envisioned brand that took the historic depot office experience online with reloading background images, a photo gallery, and more.
